ABOUT US

Jersey Shore Calvary Chapel exists to provide a Biblical WORSHIP experiences that lead to lifestyles of WORSHIP. From our regularly scheduled services, various small groups, off-site events and  missions work, everything we do is to glorify our Lord and further His Gospel.

As a community of faith in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, we believe it is our calling to assist each of our members in the pursuit of spiritual growth and in building a relationship with God.

All visitors to our church are welcomed and respected, and our goal is to help you deepen your spiritual life, engage your faith, connect with other worshippers, and help to bring service to our community and to the world.

A BIT OF HISTORY

In December 2006, Jersey Shore Calvary Chapel began as a “home group” of eight people, crowded into the living room of a small Point Pleasant Beach cape cod. Only 6 short weeks later, the “small” beyond capacity bible study, migrated to a local dance school on Arnold Avenue. Within just a few short months, it was time for the now 50+ people attending the weekly gathering to find a new home once again. Point Pleasant's Memorial Middle School and Antrim Elementary served as temporary spaces, but God had a bigger plan for His church.

In 2013, after a series of conversations with First Baptist Church on McLean Avenue, First Baptist graciously agreed that their historic church building, built in 1888, would then become the new home for Jersey Shore Calvary Chapel. First Baptist had a beautiful building with a declining congregation, and Jersey Shore Calvary Chapel had a growing congregation in need of a space to worship Jesus and call their own.

Jersey Shore Calvary Chapel believes the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God. The teaching of the Bible is what God's people need to grow in their faith. Therefore, we teach through each chapter of the Bible verse-by-verse. Today, we hold many Bible studies at different times of the week to meet various needs of God's people.

A BIT ABOUT US

In December 2006, Jersey Shore Calvary Chapel began as a group of eight people crowded into Pastor John and his wife Christina’s living room in a small cape cod in Point Pleasant Beach. Within a month and a half, they outgrew the space and had to move to a small dance school on Arnold Avenue. Just a few months later, with 50 people attending service each week, the church had to find a new home again. Point Pleasant's Memorial Middle School served as a temporary space for a time, as did Antrim Elementary.

But God had bigger plans for the expanding church. In 2013, a series of conversations led Pastor John to the First Baptist Church on McLean Avenue. First Baptist had a beautiful building but a declining congregation. JSCC had an abundance of people but little space. By June, First Baptist had graciously agreed that this historic 125-year old church should be Jersey Shore Calvary Chapel's new home.
